New Alabama OL was highest-graded freshman lineman in college football in 2023

Geoff Burke - USA Today Sports

Alabama football lost its starting center to Ohio State (NCAA transfer portal), but Kalen DeBoer brought in an athletic offensive lineman and one of the best players at his position from the portal.

Parker Brailsford, a transfer from the University of Washington, was the highest-graded freshman lineman in 2023 via Pro Football Focus. The 6-foot-2, 275-pounder played all 15 games last season — including 13 as a center. He propelled the Huskies to a Pac-12 Championship, a berth in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, and the Joe Moore Award.

Brailsford surrendered one sack of Michael Penix Jr. in 2023. He graded out at 80.4 on assessments for PFF.

Kadyn Proctor, a former Alabama offensive tackle, graded at 67 — making him ninth on the list as he’s now at Iowa.

Brailsford has his coach, Scott Huff, from Washington joining him at Alabama. He has a chance to provide the Tide with a balanced attack in the run and pass game. It should be fun to watch Brailsford compete against Alabama’s defensive line.
