He will have his hands in on all things recruiting and is building relationships with athletes in the state.

Morgan, a University of Michigan alum, understands the passion of the Big Ten.

He played on the Wolverines’ offensive line, winning two Big Ten Championships in 2000 and 2003.

Morgan assisted DeBoer to propelling Washington to a Pac-12 Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship Game berth in 2023. The Los Angeles (Calif.) native has produced success; however, the Southeastern Conference and Alabama football is a different landscape. He is more than appreciative of the love the fans in the state of Alabama have for the Crimson Tide. Morgan wants to uphold the standard from the recruiting aspect. Coach DeBoer wanted the challenge of being Nick Saban’s successor, and Morgan followed his guy.

The recruiting battles for DeBoer in the SEC will be entertaining, but Morgan is prepared to give him the edge.

Spring practice should provide much needed energy in March.
