After losing longtime Kalen DeBoer staffer, Ryan Grubb, to the Seattle Seahawks last week, Alabama likely has found it’s answer just a few days later.
According to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Crimson Tide are planning on promoting new tight ends coach Nick Sheridan to offensive coordinator.
The current plan for Alabama seems to be to promote tight ends coach Nick Sheridan to offensive coordinator, sources tell @247Sports.

Sheridan was one of several former Washington coaches to make the move to Alabama once DeBoer took over for Nick Saban.
A former Michigan quarterback (2006-10), Sheridan transitioned to coaching a year after at the high school level before becoming a graduate assistant at Western Kentucky in 2011 and would be promoted to quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator a year later.
He would then move on to South Florida in the same role before leaving for another stint as a graduate assistant at Tennessee from 2014-16.
The following season he joined Indiana as the tight ends coach where his path would finally cross with DeBoer who was the team’s offensive coordinator. Once DeBoer left for Fresno State in 2020, Sheridan would be named the Hoosiers’ offensive coordinator but was let go after the season.
Sheridan would then join DeBoer at Washington in 2021 and has been a part of his staff ever since as he is now expected to get another crack at play calling.
