Alabama left out of Top 4 for former 4-Star OL commit

Mason Short announced his top four schools Friday and left Alabama football out after multiple coaching changes in Tuscaloosa.

Short is a 2025 four-star offensive lineman out of Evans High School. He is a former Alabama commit, who de-committed shortly after news broke Nick Saban was retiring. With Alabama on the outside looking in on Short’s recruitment, the Georgia product has Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky and Ohio State in his top four.

The Crimson Tide’s new coaching staff under Kalen DeBoer appeared to be making a significant effort to build a relationship with Short by visiting him when they were on the road recruiting.

It is important to know Scott Huff was on those visits as the Tide’s offensive line coach. He is no longer with the program after a short stint after being hired as the Seahawks offensive lineman coach.

Alabama’s staff still has a long list of 2025 offensive linemen to go after with Short not seeing them as a top school for him at the moment.
