Former Alabama football’s linebacker coach, Robert Bala was announced as Washington’s inside linebacker coach Friday after a short stint with Western Michigan.
Bala was the Crimson Tide’s inside linebacker coach during the 2023 football season. He was not retained on Kalen DeBoer’s staff and took the defensive coordinator job at Western Michigan.
Alabama had a rotation of inside linebackers make an impact under Bala with Deontae Lawson, Jihaad Campbell, Trezmen Marshall and Kendrick Blackshire taking most of the snaps last season.
Bala will serve on Washington’s staff during their first year in the Big Ten.
