Alabama still at the top of board for 4-Star RB

Akylin Dear continues to have high interest in Alabama despite the many changes in Tuscaloosa.

Dear attends Quitman High School in Mississippi, and he is a 2025 four-star running back recruit. Schools from across the country are showing a lot of interest in the four-star running back.

Coaches from Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas, Florida, Mississippi State and multiple other schools have visited the Mississippi product over the last several weeks.

Dear feels Alabama is still high on his board despite the long list of changes in Tuscaloosa.

“They still at the top of my board because coach (Robert) Gillespie still there,” Dear told Touchdown Alabama. “I like coach DeBoer. I got to get there to meet the coaching staff.”

DeBoer and the Tide’s defensive coordinator Kane Womack visited Dear last month.

The Mississippi product is a fan of how Washington used their running back and Mississippi product last season under DeBoer.

“I like how Kalen DeBoer used Dillon Johnson last year,” Dear said. “He is from Mississippi, so I feel like he is going to give me the football.”

Deer was a tenacious runner with an explosive burst as a junior. The four-star finished the 2023 football season with 2 016 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns.

Deer is looking at visiting Alabama in March or April.
