Former Alabama K Will Reichard receives incredible honor from his hometown

Nelson Chenault - USA TODAY Sports

He is preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft, but a former Alabama football standout received an incredible honor on Monday from his hometown.

Will Reichard was an outstanding kicker at Hoover (Ala.) High School before selecting the University of Alabama as his collegiate program in the 2019 signing class. He excelled in the Buccaneers’ program, making 27 of 31 field goals and all 109 extra points in his career. Reichard carried the consistency to the Crimson Tide, becoming the best kicker in the Nick Saban era since Jeremy Shelley. He achieved perfection in 2020, making all 14 field goals and 84 extra point attempts. Reichard assisted the Tide to an undefeated College Football Playoff National Championship during the Coronavirus pandemic.

He went on to become the NCAA’s all-time career leader in points (547), earning the SEC’s Special Teams Player of the Year for his efforts in 2023. Reichard is a three-time Southeastern Conference Champion (2020-21, 2023) and Hoover honored him with a key to the city and a plaque.

He meant a lot to the Hoover community and the University of Alabama community.
