It didn’t take long for Eli Gold to land his next position following his departure from Alabama.
Gold will now serve as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League according to a report from The Tennessean.
“I am so very excited about returning to the Arena Football League as the voice of the Nashville Kats,” Gold said per the report. “I say returning, because I was the TV voice of the league back when the games were on NBC and TNN, and I came to love the product.”
Gold’s new move comes just days after The Crimson Tide Sports Network shared that it would not be renewing his contract. Taking over as the new voice of Alabama football will now be Chris Stewart.
The 70-year-old spent 35 years calling games for the Crimson Tide which included seven national championships and 11 SEC titles.
The Kats season is set to kick off on April 27.
