The Green Bay Packers are back to collecting University of Alabama alums on its roster.
Josh Jacobs, a former Alabama running back, joined the Packers on Monday as a free agent from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Xavier McKinney, a former Crimson Tide safety, is joining the NFC North program as well.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers have signed McKinney to a four-year, $68 million contract. David Mulugheta, McKinney’s agent for Athletes First, worked out the contract. McKinney, 24, was a second round pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

He played four seasons, collecting 249 tackles in 49 career games.
McKinney posted nine interceptions, 27 pass breakups, six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
The native Georgian had a career-high 116 total tackles in 2023 and a career-high five interceptions in 2021.
McKinney came to the University of Alabama as a four-star safety in the 2017 recruiting class. He helped the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and earned a Southeastern Conference Championship ring in 2018.
McKinney led the Tide’s defense for total tackles (95) in 2019 and totaled 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, five pass breakups, five quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles, a blocked field goal, three interceptions, and a pick-six.
