He learned the ropes from Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams, but Justice Haynes knows the time is now for him to take the game over in Alabama’s running back room.

The former five-star from Georgia showed his potential last year in the spring and totaled 168 yards rushing with three touchdowns as a freshman in 2023. Alabama fans thought it was wild that Tommy Rees took the ball out of Haynes’ hands in the Rose Bowl matchup against Michigan. Haynes was wearing down the Wolverines’ defensive unit; however, the Crimson Tide did not continue going to him.

Rees is no longer the offensive coordinator for Alabama, so the combination of Nick Sheridan and JaMarcus Shephard will make sure Haynes get his touches. He’s back in the gym with Joel Seedman, a strength and conditioning coach, squatting an insane amount of weight over spring break. Haynes wants to show he’s an every down back with strength, speed, contact balance, and versatility. He took first-team reps at the position during the first week of practice for the Tide.

Haynes is set for a breakout season and Tide fans are hungry for it.
