Alabama football finished its fifth practice of the spring on Thursday, and its second media viewing session.

Kalen DeBoer spoke to reporters after practice for the second time.

The Crimson Tide’s head football coach is excited about the growth and development of this team for the fall. He has his contract, where he will make $87 million in an eight-year span, but DeBoer is pumped for his first A-Day Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

He updated the media on a couple of injuries, but nothing has been major.

DeBoer said the Tide should get CJ Dippre (tight end), Sterling Dixon (linebacker), and Germie Bernard (receiver) back soon.

“We are getting CJ back in a little bit, he is not full go yet,” DeBoer said. “We’ll have him added to the mix.”

DeBoer did not specify what the injury was for Dippre, but he mentioned how the tight end room is thin.

Alabama has good players at the position, and the competition has been good in practice.

Coach DeBoer wants to utilize the tight ends more because that position has been significant in his offensive scheme. Dixon, a four-star freshman, came in Alabama’s 2024 signing class from Spanish Fort, Ala. The 6-foot-3, 211-pounder was spotted wearing a black, non-contact jersey in Thursday’s practice. Bernard, a transfer from Washington, was in a black jersey as well.

Reporters asked DeBoer about Dixon and Bernard, but he said there is nothing major with them..

“It’s just minor stuff,” DeBoer said.

“They will be back. I don’t think they will be back on Saturday, but I think they should be back next week. It is nothing major.”

Alabama has its first scrimmage Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
