Tyler Merrill reported an offer from Alabama Saturday after visiting the Crimson Tide.
Merrill is ranked within the top six of 2026 offensive linemen across multiple recruiting sites. He holds 21 college football offers, including offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and others. The 2025 recruit attends Cumberland Valley Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Alabama’s offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic informed Merrill of his offer from the Tide in his office during the Pennsylvania product’s visit.
“I was very excited and grateful for the opportunity to play at UA,” Merrill said. “It’s just an amazing place all around, I got to watch practice and I could tell that fire hasn’t left.”
Merrill feels Alabama is a place with ‘awesome’ people, coaches and players. The four-star also has respect for Kapilovic.
“He is an awesome guy,” said Merrill. “He definitely brings value to the program, just a great coach with 30 years of experience.”
At 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds, Merrill literally slings his weight and power around. H is the type of offensive lineman, who does not stop driving until the whistle is blown. Cumberland Valley lines him up at right tackle.
