Luke Metz will announce a verbal commitment decision Sunday at 4:30 CST.
Metz attends Mills Creek High School in Georgia, and he is on pace to earn a consensus four-star rating in the future. He will choose between Alabama, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma and others.
Alabama offered Metz earlier this month, and it had an immediate impact on his recruitment.
“Coach Wommack reached out and called me,” Metz told Touchdown Alabama. “I was super fired up. Alabama has always been a dream school.”
The junior went on to dive deeper into his admiration for the program.
“I love it,” said Metz. “The history is amazing. The whole program just stands out to me. It’s a legacy.”
The 6-foot-3 physical linebacker knows how to get through traffic and get to ball carriers as he tends to meet running backs in the hole. He also displays great technique hen defending in space as he almost looks if he is playing defense on the hardwood the way he consistently breaks down to ensure shifty ball carriers do not get behind him.
