Marquez Daniel has shown the potential to carry the torch as the next big-time wide receiver prospect from the state of Alabama.
From Julio Jones and George Pickens to some of the most recent dynamic wide receiver prospects out of Alabama like Ryan Williams and Cam Coleman, Daniel looks to be next up.
The Booker T. Washington product holds offers from multiple D1 college football programs, including Auburn, Penn State and Tennessee. He is also an early four-star prospect on multiple recruiting sites. The rising athlete is ultimately grateful to have the opportunities he has earned so far.
“It feels great, just got to stay humble, focus and keep pushing,” Daniel told Touchdown Alabama.
Auburn is the latest program to offer Daniel, and it is a program he has a lot of respect for.
“It is a great school, a great football program and a great place to be,” said Daniel.
Alabama football is one of the programs showing Daniel interest at the moment.
The Crimson Tide got him on campus at the beginning of this month. He was able to watch the Tide practice during his visit.
“The energy, how the coaches were intense and they were focusing on the small details,” Daniel said when discussing what stood out about watching the practice.
Alabama has not offered the in-state recruit yet, but an offer is definitely possible in the future. He feels he will hold it in high regard.
“It would mean everything,” Daniel said.
Daniel has visits to South Florida, Central Florida and the University of Florida coming up.
The 6-foot-5 wide receiver’s sophomore season was his best yet. He is a big playmaker at wide receiver, who runs with a lot of toughness after the catch. He can create separation out of his release and is a defensive mismatch against most defenders
