He believes in himself, his coaches, and his players, but Kalen DeBoer also believes in the Alabama football fans.
The 49-year-old will take to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday for his first spring game as the Crimson Tide’s head coach.

Alabama won’t have the signature suits of Nick Saban on the sideline; however, it will have a coach motivated and prepared to prove he can win in the Southeastern Conference. Coach DeBoer is excited to have a captive audience to showcase what this edition of Tide football will look like. He had an interview a few weeks ago with Ryan Fowler, host of The Game with Ryan Fowler on Tide 100.9 FM, about what excites him the most for A-Day. Tide fans remember how over 90,000 packed into BDS to support Coach Saban in his first marquee spring game in 2008. The passion from the fans led to Saban winning six national titles.
DeBoer feels that support will come for him and this team in the same way.

“I know all the fan base will be there on April 13,” DeBoer said to Fowler.
“It is going to be a lot of fun, and we would have come a long way from even where we are at right now. That is an opportunity at practice, even though it is a scrimmage type, it is a celebration as well. People want to get to see where we’re at. We are still in the early stages of putting this team together, but I hope we look different when we are practicing August 1. The first game is when we have to be ready to go, but I can’t wait for April 13.”
DeBoer looks to help the Tide end a three-year national championship drought.
