A bombshell of a story has hit the internet, involving Kalen DeBoer’s former institution.
According to an article from the Seattle Times, Tylin “Tybo” Rogers — a running back at the University of Washington — has come under fire for alleged sexual assault (rape) of a woman and remained on the team. He is also being investigated for raping another woman while allegedly assaulting a bicyclist in the University District last month. Per the article, the first sexual assault from Rogers happened last season. DeBoer was the Huskies’ head coach in 2023, leading it to a Pac-12 Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Rogers played in 12 games last year, totaling 184 yards rushing.

DeBoer has released a statement concerning the matter via the University of Alabama.
“While I am not able to comment specifically on the situation involving an individual at my former institution because of federal privacy laws and the ongoing criminal matters, I do want to make it clear that I take any allegation of sexual misconduct very seriously,” DeBoer said in Thursday’s statement. “I always have and always will follow established institutional policies and procedures to ensure prompt reporting and proper handling of allegations by the appropriate authorities.”
The 49-year-old is preparing the Crimson Tide for Saturday’s A-Day Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
