Alabama football wrapped up its first group of spring practice with its spring game on Saturday.
Here are some immediate takeaways:
– Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson are the leaders of the Crimson Tide’s quarterback room, and the duo will help the Tide make a case to have one of the nation’s top quarterback rooms in college football. Milroe delivered some impressive throws throughout the game. Simpson appears to continue to get more comfortable as a college quarterback as he even dug into some of the things that made him a special quarterback recruit by throwing some throws from different angles while avoiding pressure.
– Alabama’s running back room has an opportunity to be productive and deep with Jam Miller and Justice Haynes leading the way. Richard Young could also carve a name for himself into the rotation.
– Germie Bernard will push to be an immediate playmaker for the Crimson Tide. The explosive Washington transfer flashed by creating separation and pulling in passes from Milroe. He also showed an ability to make plays after the catch.
– Competition at kicker? Reid Schuback took on kicking responsibilities on kickoff, and he nailed a 47-yard field goal. Alabama’s redshirt freshmn Conor Talty missed his only field-goal attempt.
