Alabama cornerback, Kool-Aid McKinstry admitted he was close to committing to Auburn during an exclusive interview with AL.com.
McKinstry is a former five-star recruit and a product of Pinson Valley High School.
His final commitment decision came down to Alabama, Auburn and LSU. He told the story of how he told Auburn’s staff was committing to them during the interview.
“I had told Auburn I was going to commit to them publicly,” McKinstry said. “But then, I had woke up about three days later and was like ‘hell nah, I am going to Alabama.’”
McKinstry went on to share his mother’s reaction to the news.
