He will have his moment next year for the NFL Draft, but Malachi Moore is loving what the Detroit Lions are doing.

The University of Alabama defensive back sees Detroit has Brian Branch and Terrion Arnold in its secondary.

Moore played with both guys and saw them excel under Nick Saban. He came in the 2020 recruiting class with Branch, and the two helped the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Moore watched Branch record 90 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, three sacks, seven pass breakups, and two interceptions in his final season at Alabama in 2022 before turning professional.

Branch got selected in the second round of the 2023 draft by the Lions and had a good rookie campaign. Moore would also watched Arnold’s growth, turning from being a recruited athlete to becoming one of the best coverage cornerbacks in college football. Arnold totaled 12 pass breakups and five interceptions, both of which were team-highs for the Tide in 2023. He pushed the “Let All Naysayers Know” or LANK mantra in getting Alabama to a Southeastern Conference Championship and CFP berth. Detroit came Thursday to get Arnold at the 24th overall selection.

Moore knows the Lions have something special.

He could be next in Detroit with a marquee season for Alabama in the coming fall.
