Texas LB Tai’Yion King on Alabama offer: ‘Every kid wants to get an offer from there’

Alabama football and the rest of college football are prioritizing recruiting athletic linebackers, and one of the Crimson Tide’s latest targets, Tai’Yion King, is just more proof of that.

King attends Port Author Memorial High School in Texas, and he is a member of the 2026 recruiting class. He holds more than 20 college football offers with previous offers from Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and others. The Texas product considers it a blessing to hold an offer from the Tide.

“Who doesn’t want to get an offer from Bama?” King told Touchdown Alabama. “Every kid that plays football wants to get an offer from there. To finally get one is an amazing feeling and a blessing.”

The long history and tradition of success Alabama has enjoyed is something King admires.

“Bama has history and even with Saban gone, Bama has history,” King said. “Bama is Bama.”

At 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, King excels at making plays in space as an athletic linebacker. He feels he plays a fast and physical brand of football.

The new Alabama target finished the 2023 football season with 138 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
