He has the fifth-year option picked up on his rookie contract, but Jaylen Waddle is coming after more.

The former Alabama wide receiver enters his fourth year with the Miami Dolphins in the fall.

He was taken at No. 6 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and has been excellent for the Dolphins.

Waddle, a native of Houston, Texas, totaled at least 1,000 yards receiving in his first three years in the National Football League. He recorded a career season in 2022, posting 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns on 75 catches in 17 games.

Waddle averaged a league-high 18.1 yards per reception in his second season.

He’s back home at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas, where he first crafted the skills of a four-star prospect to become a marquee receiver for the Crimson Tide. Waddle is training with Justin Allen, founder of ALL-EN Sports LLC, to position himself for an explosive season that may produce a bigger contract for him. He made the Pro Football Writers All-Rookie Team in 2021, but Waddle has yet to earn his first Pro Bowl invitation. He wants to make sure he helps Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa, and this offense make a deep run in the playoffs and win a Super Bowl at some point. Alabama fans look forward to a big year from him.

Waddle, a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2018 signing class, was a two-time Southeastern Conference Champion (2018, 2020) and a College Football Playoff National Champion in 2020.

He earned SEC Freshman of the Year in 2018 and SEC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2019. Waddle was one of the most explosive playmakers of the Nick Saban era for the Tide.
