Former Alabama quarterback Tyler Buchner is now a national champion lacrosse player.
After playing one season with the Crimson Tide, Buchner entered the NCAA transfer portal where he would return to Notre Dame, not to play quarterback, but rather pick up a lacrosse stick.
The Fighting Irish defeated Maryland 15-5 on Monday as it secured its second straight national title. Buchner came off the bench during the game as a junior midfielder.

When being recruited out of high school, Buchner was a two-sport athlete before ultimately choosing to play quarterback at Notre Dame where he would appear in a total of 13 games before transferring to Alabama where he would play in two more games in 2023.
