More excitement is in college football now with a 12-team playoff.
Fans of the sport get more college football as many teams now have a chance to get into the College Football Playoff and compete for a national championship. Kalen DeBoer, Alabama’s new head coach, admired Nick Saban’s ability to capture three CFP National Championships (2015, 2017, and 2020), but now the sun shines on him to continue the winning culture.

The 49-year-old addressed reporters on Tuesday at SEC Spring Meetings at Miramar Beach, Fla.
He is happy about the 12-team playoff, but DeBoer wants the Tide focused on one thing.

“I don’t like to think that you have little wiggle room because you have more teams that are in the playoff,” DeBoer said. “I don’t want us thinking that way. I want us thinking about every game, the significance of it, how important it is for us to land in a great spot and getting a potential first-round bye in the playoff. To me, that is what we will be attacking and what we’ll be working for.”
DeBoer’s thought process is like Saban’s in this matter.
Saban took every opponent seriously and did not overlook anyone. DeBoer is not concerned about scenarios on how a 1-loss or a 2-loss Alabama team can still make the playoff. He is locked in on winning each game, so those scenarios do not have to happen.
Alabama’s first game is on Saturday, Aug. 31 versus Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
