The University of Alabama football program earned another reason to be called “Wide Receiver U.”
Kalen DeBoer, the Crimson Tide’s new head coach, has a massive recruiting tool to get more receivers.

According to a graphic from the Next Round Show, Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith, Calvin Ridley, and Jerry Jeudy signed contract extensions this offseason. Waddle, a former first-round pick by the Miami Dolphins, became one of the highest-paid receivers in the National Football League with a three-year, $84.75 million deal that included $76 million guaranteed.
Waddle pockets $28 million a year. Smith, the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner, gets $25 million a year from the Philadelphia Eagles while Ridley is at $23 million a year from the Tennessee Titans. Jeudy has a cool $17.5 million a year from the Cleveland Browns.

All four receivers won at least one CFP National Championship at Alabama. Ridley earned two in 2015 and 2017.
