Mal Waldrep is ready to get a better feel for Alabama football and its staff during his official visit.
Waldrep is a product of Central Phenix City High School in Phenix City Alabama, and he has the Crimson Tide in his top four along with Clemson, Florida and Tennessee. Auburn is also still involved in Waldrep’s recruitment. The Tide will host Waldrep for an official visit this weekend.
“I’m looking for a family feel, and I want to see if I feel more comfortable around the Alabama staff and players,” Waldrep told Touchdown Alabama.
Kalen DeBoer visited Phenix City in January and confirmed to Waldrep he was still one of their top targets.
“He is a great guy, let me know I’m still one of their big-time guys,” Waldrep said. “I enjoyed getting to know his background and kind of how they do things up there now.”
At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Waldrep lines up at left tackle for the Red Devils. He has displayed impressive agility and the ability to finish blocks with his strength throughout this season so far. The 2025 recruit feels he can play anywhere along the offensive line.
