Elite in-state 4-Star DB has Alabama, other top programs in hot pursuit

Zyan Gibson is seeing his stock continue to rise as he performs at college football camps and take visits.

Gibson is a 2026 recruit, who attends Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Alabama. Most recruiting sites have him listed as a four-star recruit and ranked as one of the top cornerbacks in the 2026 recruiting class.

Alabama offered Gibson in March and his offer list has continued to grow with him earning offers from Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Missouri, Texas A&M and others. His recruitment remains fluid as he is soaking in the early stages of his earned recognition.

“No favorites yet,” Gibson said. “It’s still early in the process, and I am enjoying it.

Georgia is one of the schools, who have recently offered Gibson. He earned his offer from the Bulldogs with an impressive camp performance as he clocked in a 4.47 forty-yard dash.

Alabama hosted the four-star for an unofficial visit Saturday, and it was another ‘good’ visit to Tuscaloosa for the in-state prospect.

“I got a chance to meet with coach (Kalen) DeBoer, Mo (Maurice Linguist) and (Kane) Wommack,” Gibson told Touchdown Alabama. “I also got to see my old teammate, Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr and more Alabama players, and I met Na’eem Offord.”

The 2026 prospect is a long 6-foot-1 defensive back with very good reaction skills to go along with his elite speed, which is verified by his 10.85 PR in the 100-meter dash. He also works back down the field with good closing speed and can make plays on special teams as a returner.

Alabama will look to continue to build their relationship with Gibson as more contenders for him emerge.
