Kalen DeBoer extended an Alabama offer to Anthony Cartwright after he impressed while performing at camp on Monday.
Cartwright attends Detroit County Day School in Michigan, and he is a 2027 prospect. The rising sophomore holds 15 college football offers, including previous offers from Michigan, Ole Miss and others. DeBoer met up with Cartwright after camp to inform him of his Alabama offer
“I was excited and happy that the hard work is paying off, but I also remembered that this also means to keep working harder and push myself to be better every day,” Cartwright told Touchdown Alabama.
Monday’s visit was Cartwright’s first to Tuscaloosa. He left impressed with what he saw from the program.
“Alabama has always been known as a top program in college football,” Cartwright said. “I really liked seeing all of the awards that they have achieved, and the way that things were set up and how they operated things around the building.”
At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Cartwright lined up at multiple positions for Country Day as a freshman. Alabama offered him at tight end, which is a position he showed a lot of potential at during the 2023 football season.
“I am good at using my size, getting open, and I have a large catch radius, but there is always room for improvement,” said Cartwright
