Xavier Griffin made a return visit to Alabama Friday and got to work out with multiple Tide coaches, including Kalen DeBoer.
Griffin is a product of Gainesville High School in Georgia, and he is originally from Huntsville, Alabama. The rising junior is a consensus 2026 four-star recruit, and he is considered a top-five linebacker prospect, according to multiple recruiting outlets.
Alabama offered Griffin in February, and the four-star made a trip to Tuscaloosa in March for an unofficial visit. Griffin’s Friday trip to Tuscaloosa gave him an opportunity to show what he can do on the gridiron.
“I had a great workout session with coach (Christian) Robinson and coach (Kane) Wommack and got to catch up with coach Daboer,” Griffin told Touchdown Alabama.”I absolutely loved it. It’s a great time every time I go.”
Griffin has gone on record and expressed he always dreamed of getting an Alabama offer.
“I’ve always watched them growing up, and I’ve always been an Alabama fan,” Griffin said. “Seeing it through the Nick Saban era was really special, and I know all the talent they’ve produced through the years. I believe they will continue to do that.”

Griffin is a 6-foot-4 Edge with a quick twitch, who can play sideline to sideline. The Alabama native is the true definition of a versatile linebacker prospect with his blend of size and athleticism to go along with his ability to make plays from the edge and off the ball. He feels his ability to get off blocks and close space are strengths of his game.
