Pro Football Focus has the Alabama linebacker unit ranked in the Top 10 of College Football ahead of the 2024 football season.

The Crimson Tide notch the No. 6 spot in the latest PFF rankings after retaining one of the top linebacker tandems in the country in Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell.
Lawson is one of the projected leaders of the Tide’s defense.
The Mobile, Alabama native was Alabama’s second-leading tackler in 2023 with 67 total tackles. He also had five tackles for loss and three sacks while starting in 11 games.

Campbell started in eight games last season after missing the season opener with an injury. He wrapped up the year with 66 tackles, four tackles for loss and half a sack.

Jeremiah Alexander and Justin Jefferson are expected to back up the two experienced linebackers.
Jefferson played in 14 games for Alabama last season after transferring from Pearl River Community College, mostly on special teams. Alexander made the move to inside to outside linebacker in 2023. The former five-star also primarily played on special teams.
