Akylin Dear felt wanted in Tuscaloosa during his official visit to the University of Alabama to check out the Crimson Tide.
Dear is one of the nation’s top 2025 running backs and is rated as a four-star recruit on most recruiting sites. He is currently committed to Ole Miss, but the Crimson Tide and others are continuing to recruit him.
The Quitman, Mississippi product left Tuscaloosa feeling like the people in the Tide’s facilities are the people he will fit in with.
“The people at Alabama are the people you want around you, like cool people,” Dear told Touchdown Alabama.
Alabama’s freshman running back, Daniel Hill spent a lot of time around Dear during his visit. The pair are both from Mississippi.
“Daniel wants me and him to be a duo with me and him being from the same area,” Dear said.
The Tide’s running back coach Robert Gillespie has been big in Alabama’s continuous push for Dear. The four-star was able to catch up with Gillespie as well.
“They still at the top of my board because coach (Robert) Gillespie still there,” Dear previously said.
