Alabama football is eyeing landing a loaded 2025 wide receiver class with Keelon Russell as its quarterback pledge.
The Crimson Tide hold commitments from multiple prospects, who have the potential to line up at wide receiver in Derick Smith, Lotzeir Brooks and Zymear Smith. Alabama also remains in the mix for several of the nation’s top wideouts.
Here is a look at those recruits:
Caleb Cunningham
Cunningham is expected to officially visit Alabama football this weekend. The Mississippi product is a five-star wide receiver out of Choctaw County High School in Mississippi. He is currently considering Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and others.
At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, the junior is an athletic prospect with a big frame, who can run. He is a tough cover for every high school corner with his speed, size and ability to go up and get the football out of the air.
Kaliq Lockett
Lockett is fresh off an official visit to Alabama and is looking to announce a commitment date after officially visiting Texas this weekend. The Tide’s quarterback commit, Keelon Russell is actively recruiting Lockett at the moment and the Tide looks to be rising in the five-star’s recruitment.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder thrives in contested-catching situations with his ability to go up and get the football and display great ball skills and concentration. He also flashes the ability to be a deceptive route runner and make plays after the catch.
Derek Meadows
Meadows is set to officially visit Alabama this weekend. The Bishop Gorman High School five-star is considering Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame.
The 6–foot-6, 195-pounder is an obvious huge target, who is a mismatch for most defenders. His blend of athleticism, size and ability to be under control when running routes make him a seriously tough cover. He also has impressive speed for a guy his size, which allows him to eat up ground after the catch.
Travis Smith Jr.
Similar to Lockett, Smith recently officially visited Alabama. He has a commitment date locked in for July 13 with him considering Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and others. Alabama looked to have made a move for Smith over the weekend.
“It was amazing,” Smith told Touchdown Alabama following his visit. “I was the only receiver on an official visit this weekend, so it felt very exclusive. Me and my family had a great time. I spent a lot of time with the Staff, especially Coach Shepherd, who is a high-energy coach that knows how to produce NFL caliber guys at that position.”
The Georgia product is a bigger wide receiver at 6-foot-4 and approximately 200 pounds. His size and athleticism allow him to strive in jump-ball situations and when he is called upon to catch in traffic. He also runs his routes under control.
