Former Alabama defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is no longer a part of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Buggs was officially released from the team on Monday after an offseason of arrests which began when he was charged with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal cruelty back in May. A pair of dogs who Buggs was allegedly responsible for were found severely malnourished with one ultimately being euthanized.
Buggs’ second arrest occurred last Sunday where he was booked on a domestic violence/burglary charge which caused his bail to be revoked for his previous charge of animal cruelty. He is currently being held in Tuscaloosa County Jail.
The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs had re-signed Buggs to a futures contract in February following its second straight championship.
Buggs played two seasons at Alabama where he was a part of the 2018 national championship team before being drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After three seasons, Buggs would spend the next two with the Detroit Lions before signing to the Chiefs practice squad in January.
