Dawson Merritt has announced a verbal commitment to Alabama football.
Merritt is a 2025 four-star linebacker out of Blue Valley High School in Kansas. He currently garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.
The Kansas product chose Alabama over Nebraska. The Crimson Tide hosted Merritt for an official visit earlier this month and sealed the deal for the four-star.
Merritt is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds with very long arms. He is a versatile linebacker, who makes plays from the edge and off the ball. He excels in space and playing sideline to sideline as an athletic prospect. His style of play works well at linebacker in today’s game with how most teams like to sling the ball around.
