Deontae Lawson and Malachi Moore were both named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy preseason watchlist, which includes 42 players nationally.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded annually to the student-athlete who best exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT on and off the field. IMPACT is an acronym for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Former Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson was the last player to win it 2023. This season veteran players Lawson and Moore are expected to be the core leaders on the Crimson Tide defense on and off the field.
