Greg McElroy recently shared what he feels will be a ‘disappointing’ win total for Kalen DeBoer in year one at Alabama.
DeBoer and the Crimson Tide have one of the toughest schedules in college football in 2024. The former Alabama quarterback feels his alma mater needs to win or be close to winning double-digit games.
“10-2, I think you’re in the playoffs,” McElroy said on a recent episode of Always College Football. “9-3, you’re on the fringe and anything less than that, I think would be considered a disappointing year for Kalen Deboer.”
McElroy went on to dive deeper into his reasoning.
“That’s really disappointing,” said McElroy. “When you look at the schedule, Georgia comes to them. They’re at Tennessee, at Oklahoma, at LSU. Missouri comes to them. There are some difficult games on the schedule. Alabama has played well at home, but it’s really going to come down, I think, in some cases, can they win one of the two at home whether it’s Georgia or Mizzou? Can they win two of the three on the road at Tennessee, at Oklahoma, at LSU?”
Alabama kicks off the season against Western Kentucky on Aug. 31.
