Who commits to Alabama football next?

Alabama football is having a great summer on the recruiting trail and is looking to close it out with a bang.

The Crimson Tide currently have commitments from more than 20 2025 prospects with several of their top targets expected to announce commitments over the next several weeks. Here is an updated look at who could commit to Alabama next:

Caleb Cunningham – 5-Star WR

Cunningham remains at the top of this conversation after proclaiming Alabama the No. 1 school in his recruitment following his June official visit. He has also gone on record and said he is eyeing a July announcement timeframe.

The Mississippi product is a five-star wide receiver out of Choctaw County High School in Mississippi. He is currently considering Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and others.

At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, the junior is an athletic prospect with a big frame, who can run. He is a tough cover for every high school corner with his speed, size and ability to go up and get the football out of the air.

Ty Haywood – 5-Star OL

Haywood is reportedly going to decide between Alabama, Florida State and Oklahoma at some point this month.

The Crimson Tide hosted him for an official visit last month on the same weekend they hosted and landed fellow Texas product, Keelon Russell.

Haywood is a massive offensive tackle for Ryan High School (TX) at 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds. His strength and size allow him to physically dominate most high school defensive linemen. He seems to have a great understanding of a wide variety of blocking assignments. He has shown the ability to be effective in pass protection, zone blocking and combo blocking. He also appears comfortable blocking in space with his ability to get to the second level.

Kaliq Lockett – 5-Star WR

Lockett is most likely not the Crimson Tide’s next commit with him set to announce a decision on Aug. 7, but he is still worth mentioning with the Tide’s quarterback commit, Keelon Russell actively recruiting him, and the Tide looks to be squarely in the mix for the five-star, who will choose between Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder thrives in contested-catching situations with his ability to go up and get the football and display great ball skills and concentration. He also flashes the ability to be a deceptive route runner and make plays after the catch.

Derek Meadows – 4-Star WR

Meadows will announce his commitment decision on Saturday. The Nevada product has officially visited Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and Michigan.

The Tide hosted him for an official visit last month, and this one will be interesting to monitor over the next few days.

The 6–foot-6, 195-pounder is an obvious huge target, who is a mismatch for most defenders. His blend of athleticism, size and ability to be under control when running routes make him a seriously tough cover. He also has impressive speed for a guy his size, which allows him to eat up ground after the catch.

Akylin Dear – 4-Star RB

Dear backed off his commitment to Ole Miss last month, and the Crimson Tide appears to be in the lead for him at the moment. If he announces this month, Alabama is the heavy favorite to be his choice.

The Tide has continued to trend in this direction for Dear since hosting him for an official visit.
