We have made it to an important week in the summer.

The Southeastern Conference Football Media Days is the unofficial countdown to the college football season.

Nick Saban enjoyed doing the event for 17 years as Alabama’s head coach (2007-23), but he experienced something hilarious Monday morning at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The 72-year-old never had to use a media credential before, but he’s now a contributing analyst for this year’s media days. He forgot to have his credential on and was denied entry. Saban was able to get in after getting his credential. He had fun telling the story to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg on Get Up as SEC Media Days has begun.

“It is a little different,” Saban said about wearing a credential for SEC Media Days.

“I have never worn a credential in my life and was always able for 17 years to get into SEC Media Days without a credential … I had to back to the room today to get my credential. That is one of the biggest changes I see. It is not like it used to be.”

He had a good laugh with Greenberg, but Saban has his credential and is ready to excel on the set.
