Nick Saban has his analyst hat on at SEC Media Days and is providing some interesting takes.
The former University of Alabama football head coach had heads turning at the Omni Hotel in Dallas (Texas) as he does not have the Crimson Tide playing for a Southeastern Conference Championship. Saban listed Texas and Georgia as the two programs battling at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a conference title. When it comes to his former team, the 72-year-old stated on ESPN his biggest concern about the Tide for the upcoming season.

“I think ‘Bama has really got a lot of good players,” Saban said Monday.
“I think they’ve got question marks in the secondary, especially at corner. Getting Proctor back probably was important because they were a little bit weak at tackle. That’s going to help them. I think depth of the tea will be the biggest question. If Alabama can stay healthy, I think they have enough good first-line players to compete against anybody.”
Saban is justified to have concerns at cornerback.
He coached two elite defenders in 2023 with Terrion Arnold and Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry. Both were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Arnold was taken in the first round. Alabama has talent at cornerback, but no proven experience in a Tide jersey.
We will see if names such as Domani Jackson, DaShawn Jones, Kameron Howard, Jahlil Hurley, or one of the Crimson Tide’s freshmen can emerge as a lock down defender. Fall camp should provide something, but Saban has his concerns for the secondary.
