Kirby Smart spoke to the media at SEC Media Days Tuesday and shared his outlook on the future of Alabama taking on Georgia with Kalen DeBoer as the Tide’s head coach.
Smart and the Bulldogs were defeated by the Crimson Tide the last time they squared off in the SEC Championship, which was ultimately Saban’s last win as Alabama’s’ head coach. The two programs have battled it out in some of college football’s best games over the last several years.
The Georgia head coach feels this will continue with DeBoer in Tuscaloosa.
“I don’t expect it to change at all,” Smart said. “You’re talking about two teams that have been at the forefront of college football. It’s probably gonna be that way for a long time. The standard thats created there at Alabama and the standard we’ve created, those two are gonna be matching up for a long time. I think it’s what’s great about college athletics.”
Georgia is 1-5 against Alabama with Smart as their head coach.
