Tim Kennan III, a Birmingham (Ala.) native, has become a leader for the Crimson Tide.

Now at 305 pounds, the 6-foot-2 nose tackle finished last year with 38 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, seven quarterback hurries, and a quarterback hurry — helping the Tide win a Southeastern Conference Championship. He is growing into his style on the field, but Kennan is special in the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham communities. Kennan recently held his youth football camp in Birmingham, proving smiles, laughter, fun, and teachable moments for everyone. He made the preseason watchlist for the Allstate AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Good Hands Team. The honor goes to a college football athlete who best demonstrates charity and giving back to his community. Kennan has an opportunity to have a marquee year in the coming fall.
