The SEC media predicted the order of finish for the 2024 football season at SEC Media Days in Dallas.
Seven schools received votes as preseason favorites to win the league but only three schools had double-digit votes. Those programs were Alabama, Georgia and Texas.
The Crimson Tide find themselves projected to finish third in the SEC after only receiving (12) votes predicting them to win the conference championship, behind Texas (27) and Georgia (165).
The media has predicted the SEC champion correctly just nine times since 1992. Media members selected to Georgia to win the conference last year. However, Alabama beat the Bulldogs, 27-24, in last season’s SEC Championship Game. Earlier this week, former Head Coach Nick Saban predicted Georgia and Texas as the top 2 finishers in the conference.
The 2024 season will mark the first season since 1991 where there are no divisions in SEC Football. This is due to the conference’s recent expansion of 16 teams. The SEC Championship game will be determined during the eight-game regular-season conference schedule as the teams with the two best overall SEC records will meet.
Here below is the media’s full list of SEC teams and their projected order of finish in 2024:
1. UGA (165)
