The Minnesota Vikings and its first-round pick Dallas Turner officially came to terms on his first professional contract on Sunday.
The former Alabama edge rusher was the SEC defensive player of the year last season after registering a total of 11 sacks, 53 tackles and two forced fumbles before being selected No. 17 overall in April’s draft.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter announced Turner is receiving a fully guaranteed deal, signing a four-year contract worth $15.76 million that includes a $8.28 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option from Minnesota to complete their 2024 rookie signing class.
This should have the Vikings organization excited as they expect Turner to be a key addition defensively upfront early on.

Trevion first attended Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2018-2019 and competed in D2 NCAA, before transferring to Butler Community College in spring 2020. Trevion then went on to compete in JUCO and graduate with his associates degree in liberal arts in spring 2021. Trevion would later transfer to the University of Louisiana at Monroe and competed in D1 NCAA during 2022, before ultimately stepping from track and deciding to focus on a career in sports journalism.
