Alabama football is looking to wrap up a big summer with a few possible commits.
Two players remain on deck to commit before the Crimson Tide lock in for fall camp. Here is a look at those prospects:
Akylin Dear – 4-Star RB
Dear rises to the top of this conversation after Caleb Cunningham and Ty Haywood committed to Alabama, and Derek Meadows chose the Tigers over the Tide.
The Mississippi product backed off his commitment to Ole Miss last month, and the Crimson Tide continues to be the expected lead for him at the moment. If he announces this month, Alabama is the heavy favorite to be his choice.
This trend has continued for Dear since he wrapped up his official visit in June. He remains on commitment watch ahead of his senior season.
“The people at Alabama are the people you want around you, like cool people,” Dear told Touchdown Alabama following his visit.
Kaliq Lockett – 5-Star WR
Lockett is set to choose between Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M and Texas on Aug. 7.
This is currently expected to be a Longhorns vs. Alabama battle. The Crimson Tide became a factor in Lockett’s recruitment in June after they picked up a commitment from Keelon Russell. He officially visited the Tide later in the month ahead of an official visit to Texas. The five-star shard commitment was coming soon before he visited the Longhorns and was fresh off a visit to Tuscaloosa.
