The Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Amari Cooper has agreed to a restructured one-year contract, guaranteeing his $20M and adding an additional $5M, per multiple reports.
The Biletnikoff award winner and 2016 first-round draft pick is receiving the extension after earning his fifth Pro Bowl selection as he totaled a career-high 1,250 receiving yards, 72 catches and 5 five touchdowns.
Cooper was set to enter the final season of a five-year deal, which he originally signed while with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. The Browns traded for Cooper two years into the deal in 2022 and immediately re-structured the deal to help create cap space that season, while also creating void years in 2025 and 2026.
This new agreement comes Tuesday afternoon after Cooper sat out mandatory minicamp in June earlier this offseason.
The Browns now avoid a potential contract holdout with one of their top weapons on offense as Cooper will now report to practice, joining the franchise in the start of their 2024 training camp this week.
