Jalen Milroe tells why he did not transfer following Nick Saban’s retirement

Jalen Milroe was a guest on CBS Mornings Thursday, and he was asked about his decision to stay at Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement.

Milroe signed with the Crimson Tide as a four-star quarterback out of Katy, Texas. He started in 13 games at quarterback for the Crimson Tide last season and was able to lead the Tide to the SEC Championship and to the College Football Playoff.

The Alabama quarterback was asked about his decision to stick with the Tide once Kalen DeBoer was hired, and he referred to his initial goals when he first decided to come to Alabama in his answer.

“I’m big on goals, setting short-term goals, long-term goals,” Milroe said. “My initial goal coming into college beyond any stat, beyond any play on the field was getting my degree in three years, and I was able to achieve that this past December. ”

Milroe obtained his degree in business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship and is pursuing a masters degree.

Fall camp is right around the corner for the Tide, and Milroe and company are getting ready to lock back in.
