Jam Miller returns to the University of Alabama as its most experienced running back. He arrived as a four-star in the 2022 recruiting class from Tyler (Texas) Legacy High School. Miller made plays as a freshman for the Crimson Tide, but he increased his carries last season. The 5-foot-10, 211-pounder had 41 rushing attempts for 201 yards and a touchdown. He also caught four passes for 73 yards, including a touchdown versus Georgia in the Southeastern Conference title game on a wheel route.

Miller possesses similar traits to former Alabama standout, Josh Jacobs, but can he be the Tide’s lead back in the fall?
People expected Justice Haynes, a former five-star, to be successful.
He turned in some eye-opening runs against Michigan in the Rose Bowl and creates holes when none are there. Miller offers the Tide more versatility than Haynes in the passing game, especially with the offense wanting to be more dynamic. He had more rushing attempts (41 to 25) and yards (201 to 165) than Haynes did in 2023, but will it continue this year? Miller has a chance to lead Alabama in carries and yards as its marquee rusher. According to Robert Gillespie, the Tide’s running backs coach, the junior has become more of a vocal leader. It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but Miller could be Alabama’s leading back.
He has all the tools needed to dominate in the running game.
