Nick Saban commented on the players, who left Alabama without giving Kalen DeBoer an evaluation following Saban’s retirement at SEC Media Days.
DeBoer joined Saban and other SEC Network analysts on the set of SEC Now while in Dallas. Saban took some time to show respect for the players, who allowed DeBoer to talk and visit with them when he first arrived in Tuscaloosa.
“It’s really important to note here that guys like Ryan (Williams), who had the patience to give you the opportunity to visit with them, to come and visit, and guys just didn’t bolt without making an evaluation,” Saban said. “And I think some of those guys are probably sorry because Alabama is a special place, and you’re gonna do a great job there. I appreciate the Ryan Williams of the world that did that.”
Alabama will have a new look on the sideline with DeBoer taking over and will look a bit different on the field this season.
