Alabama quarterback named to Maxwell Award Watchlist

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe throws a pass in the Iron Bowl

Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe was named to the Maxwell Award preseason watchlist on Monday.

The Maxwell Award is given annually to college football’s best player. This honor is the premier award on the ESPN Home Depot College Awards Show, which is nationally televised each December.

Milroe was a semifinalist for this award in 2023 in his first season as a starter in Tuscaloosa. The electric dual-threat quarterback accumulated a 65.8 percent passer rating as he threw for 23 touchdowns, and 2,834 yards, while accounting for an additional 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Milroe enters his senior year under center for the Crimson Tide. He now has the opportunity to join Alabama other Maxwell award winners AJ McCarron (2014) , Derrick Henry (2015) , Tua Tagovailoa (2018) , DeVonta Smith (2020) and Bryce Young (2021).

Personal: Trevion Ware is from Dallas, Tx, born February 16th. Trevion is a 2018 High school graduate from Dallas Carter High School. Trevion attended 3 colleges as a former college track athlete; Texas A&M University-Commerce, Butler Community College, and The University of Louisiana at Monroe.
