Ba’Roc Willis has announced a verbal commitment to Alabama.
Willis is a sophomore at Moody High School in Alabama and is a member of the 2027 recruiting class. He currently holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU and others. He is the first 2027 prospect to commit to Alabama.
The Tide were able to sell Willis on their future Sunday when he visited.
“It was the staff,” Willis told Touchdown Alabama. “I had a relationship with (Freddie) Roach, (Kalen) DeBoer and Courtney Morgan. They showed a lot of love yesterday, let me know that they wanted me, and it felt like home. I felt like it was where I wanted to be.”
Alabama’s defensive system under Kane Wommack is also something Willis likes about the Tide.
“It is a system I can get after it,” said Willis. “There is no place like Alabama.”
At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Willis is one of the more polished underclassmen edge prospects in the country. He finished last season with 79 tackles, nine sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss.
