Former Alabama receiver Christion Jones named high school head coach

Christion Jones (No. 22) returns a punt for Alabama versus Ohio State in 2015 Sugar Bowl

Former Alabama wide receiver, Christion Jones was officially introduced as Paul W. Bryant High School’s new head football coach Friday.

Jones is a two-time BCS National Champion with the Crimson Tide. He won SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and was elected to the ALL SEC 1st team in 2013 before going undrafted in 2015. The Alabama native later signed with the Miami Dolphins practice squad for a brief stint. In 2016, Jones signed with the Canadian Football League where he played four seasons for Toronto Argonauts (2016) , Saskatchewan Roughriders (2017-2019), and Edmonton Eskimos (2019). He officially retired from football in 2019. 

The former Alabama wideout will officially make his coaching debut on August 23rd as the Paul W. Bryant Stampede open their season against Percy Julian High school.

Personal: Trevion Ware is from Dallas, Tx, born February 16th. Trevion is a 2018 High school graduate from Dallas Carter High School. Trevion attended 3 colleges as a former college track athlete; Texas A&M University-Commerce, Butler Community College, and The University of Louisiana at Monroe. Trevion graduated with his associates degree from Butler Community College in spring 2021, then graduated in spring of 2024 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with his bachelors. Trevion is now a contributing journalist and team reporter for Touchdown Alabama Magazine.
